The State Service for Accreditation of Health Care Activities (hereinafter - the Accreditation Service) invites you to prepare in time for the changes, as the ranks of health care professionals have been expanded to include nurse assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, medical psychologists, medical geneticists, medical biologists, biomedical technologists, radiology technologists, dieticians, optometrists and paramedics. All of these professionals practise under the heading of personal health care and will be required to obtain a stamp number and a licence.
On 3 October 2017, the new version of the List of Personal Health Care Activities entered into force, adding new personal health care activities. As a result, not only doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives, oral care professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and massage therapists, but also nursing assistants, occupational therapists' assistants, physiotherapy assistants, physiotherapists' assistants, medical psychologists, medical geneticists, medical biologists, medical biologists, biomedical technologists, radiological technologists, dieticians, optometrists, and paramedics have now been identified as personal healthcare professionals. Thus, the practice of all these professionals falls within the scope of personal health care, which means that it can only be carried out in establishments authorised to provide personal health care services, in other words, in establishments licensed to provide personal health care. All personal health care professionals may work according to their professional qualifications. The fact that the relevant professional qualification has been acquired in accordance with the law is confirmed by the number assigned to the stamp of the personal health care professional. Currently, existing doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives, oral health professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists and medical psychologists have stamp numbers, while medical geneticists, medical biologists, biomedical technologists, radiological technologists, dieticians and paramedics will have to acquire stamp numbers by 1 October 2018, and optometrists by 1 November 2019.
