INFORMACIA ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Dear health professionals,
In order to ensure the high quality of the services provided to you (the organisation of qualification improvement events - conferences, seminars and other trainings provided for by law) and having assessed the need to inform you about the processing of your personal data, we have prepared, approved and published the following information on the processing of personal data of the Lithuanian Association of Optometrists (hereafter referred to as the Association). We value and cherish our relationship with you and we aim to provide you with the most complete, consistent and clear information about the processing of your personal data. For your convenience, we provide the information in the form of questions and answers.
1. WHY DOES THE ASSOCIATION PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The Association carries out activities that involve the processing of your personal data: organising your qualification development as a health care professional, which is compulsory for you in accordance with the procedure established by legislation, selecting various forms of qualification development for you; sending you information, informing you about the legislation adopted by the SAM, about registered medical instruments and devices, and providing you with the scientific and methodological information necessary for your activities; administering the contractual and related regulatory relations; organising social events and campaigns; collect, systematize and analyze information about the services you receive, identify your needs, collect mandatory information about your professional development, and provide reports on this development in accordance with the law; conduct direct marketing; collect, store and use video data (photos and footage from events organized by the Association) for the Association's advertising, marketing, marketing and other related purposes. The exercise of these activities obliges the Association, in accordance with the law, to process (collect, store (keep), use, share) your personal data. We assure you that all your personal data is processed in accordance with the requirements of EU and Lithuanian legislation and in accordance with the conditions described in this information.
2. WHERE DOES THE ASSOCIATION GET YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The Association receives your personal data: directly from you (e.g. by filling in registration forms, concluding contracts, submitting applications, subscribing to newsletters, you provide the Association with your personal data); from your employers; from your social partners; from insurance companies; from banks (e.g, From public databases and information systems (e.g. JAR, NTR, Credit info, Regia.lt, etc.); from competent state authorities (e.g. State Tax Inspectorate, State Labour Inspectorate, Ministry of Health, other state authorities).
3. TO WHOM CAN THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The law provides that the Association may not only provide your personal data to you or use this data in its activities, but also transfer your personal data to other persons. The Association would like you to be aware that the Association may lawfully and reasonably transfer your personal data to: companies and institutions related to the Association (legal entities of the same group); insurance companies; public registers and information systems; service providers serving the Association (e.g, (e.g. financial institutions, IT service providers, lawyers and law firms, consultants and advisors, etc.); competent public authorities (e.g. the State Tax Inspectorate, the State Labour Inspectorate, the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority, the Ministry of Health and its subordinate bodies, the Competition Council, etc.).
4. IS IT NECESSARY FOR THE ASSOCIATION TO PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
Yes, it is. The Association carries out the processing of your personal data because: without the processing of these data, the requirements of the legislation for the protection of your rights and legitimate interests would not be met; without these data, it would not be possible to enter into contracts with you and to carry them out; it would not be possible to analyse your needs and expectations, to ensure that we apply a higher standard of quality in the services that we provide; and it would help us to promptly analyse your requests, preferences, complaints, if any. Without the collection and storage of your personal data, this would not be possible.
5. ARE YOU OBLIGED TO PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL DATA TO THE ASSOCIATION?
No, you are not obliged to do so. However, without your personal data, we will not be able to provide you with the services you need and meet your expectations.
6. WHAT PERSONAL DATA DOES THE ASSOCIATION PROCESS ABOUT YOU?
The scope of the data processed depends on the data received by the Association. According to the nature of the Association's activities, the following personal data may be processed: contact information (name, surname, address, residential address, telephone number, e-mail address); identification information (your job title and name of your workplace); information about your education (copies of diplomas, certificates, certificates, etc.); financial information (bank account number, payment details, amounts transferred for goods or services); other information as set out in the internal documents of the Association.
7. HOW LONG WILL THE ASSOCIATION KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, the Association would keep your personal data for the following periods: 1 (one) year in the case of processing of personal data relating to candidates for the Association's staff; 3 (three) years in the case of processing of personal data relating to students; 5 (five) years from the date of the last provision of services to a healthcare professional (date of training attended by the professional) in the case of direct marketing; 5 (five) years in the case of processing of personal data relating to the performance of insurance contracts; 10 (ten) years in the case of processing of personal data relating to the performance of tax obligations; for as long as the person is a member of the Association.
8. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS IN THE AREA OF PERSONAL DATA?
The Association respects and is responsible for your rights and would like to remind you of them once again. You can find out what personal data the Association holds about you. You can do so by submitting a written request to the Association; you can obtain a copy of your personal data, provided that this data does not require special processing. If processing is necessary for the provision of your personal data, the Association will provide you with this data in aggregate form. You may request that your personal data be updated, corrected, deleted or destroyed. You can ask the Association to restrict or suspend the processing of your personal data. You may withdraw your consent that has been given to the Association to process your personal data. Your revocation will not affect the processing that was carried out prior to your revocation. You may lodge a complaint about the processing of your data with the competent personal data protection authority.

REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
We offer pre-registration for professional development events. Professional development events include: conferences; seminars; targeted internal and external training; other forms of training and development as permitted by law. Participants intending (wishing) to take part in professional development events are obliged to familiarize themselves with the information published by the Lithuanian Association of Optometrists (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") on the processing of personal data and to give their consent to the Association regarding the processing of such data. Without this consent, we will not be able to complete your registration for the events, prepare and issue a certificate of participation, and perform other actions required by law. We remind you that your personal data is properly and fully protected, confidential and used only in accordance with the procedures and conditions established by law.
