My friendship with Optika dates back to 2005, and I can safely say
to say that, to this day, I still find this field interesting and not routine. In this field, I have had to try
many jobs - consultant, assistant foreman, regional manager, product manager, training organiser and
I'm currently focusing on optometry and the position of Product Manager (spectacle lenses).
The fact that primary education is not related to optometry and optics is proof of a genuine "dive" into the field:
In 2014, I graduated from Mykolas Riomeris University with a Master's degree in Financial Management.
Bachelor's degree in "Physical Sciences" from Šiauliai University in 2019 and qualification as an optometrist.
In 2021, 300 hours of advanced training and certification at Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine.
completed the course "Optometry II".

Throughout my education, I have participated in numerous Acuvue Eye-Health Advisor symposiums, hosted
training on eyewear and contact lens products, their selection and fitting, both in-house and
other opticians' clients in Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia.
It's hard to even describe the full contribution to optics, but I believe and follow that the work of an optometrist
The specifics are not limited to assessing the vision of optotypes. We can investigate refractive errors in the eye and
identify their high-level corrective potential. To this end, we need to improve our skills.
We need to realise that we can make a significant contribution to preventive eye care by educating the public about
the importance of good eyesight, preventive care for eye disease, eye care, etc.
I would recommend that the new Board of the Lithuanian Association of Optometrists should give priority to the optometrists
the development of practical qualifications and the overall professionalisation of the optometrist's 'package' of services
with regard to.
As optometrists, we are part of personal healthcare. So let's be them, not just in theory, but also
practically - let's help our patients not only see better, but also experience maximum eye comfort!
