3 March 2019 The General Congress of the Optometrists' Association in Vilnius has decided to change the name of the Association to Lithuanian Optometrists' Association (LOA). Currently, the LOA brings together more than 150 optometrists. Every year, the LOA organises a general congress of its members to address issues relevant to optometrists, as well as professional development seminars and conferences.
Actively participate in the public life of the Republic of Lithuania.
Actively participate in the drafting and development of legislation governing optometrists and in the formulation of regulations for the practice of optometry.
Publish methodological guidelines, newsletters, articles.
Organise seminars, conferences, exhibitions, excursions.
Organise optometrists' internships in Lithuania and abroad.
Participate in the design and implementation of national and international targeted programmes to improve optometric care for people.
Establish and maintain contacts with professional, charitable and other organisations in Lithuania and abroad.
To defend the legitimate professional and social interests of the Association's members and represent them, at their request, before all public and international bodies and organisations. To establish and maintain relations with Lithuanian and foreign professional, charitable and other organisations.
