CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FOR OPTOMETRISTS
Introductory part
The following shall be bound by this Code of Ethics for the Professional Practice of Optometry (the "Code")
all members of the Lithuanian Association of Optometrists, out of respect for their profession and the rule of law
and its citizens, in the honest and conscientious performance of their duties, in the development of advanced optometric
principles of practice, in order to justify the good name of the optometrist, respecting human dignity and
rights. It is intended that this Code should guide the professional activities of not only Lithuanian optometrists
members of the Association of Optometrists, but all optometrists practising in Lithuania, and to commit themselves to this Code
to observe and be guided by it in their daily professional activities.
The purpose of this Code of Professional Conduct
- to define the moral aspects of the optometrist's practice which determine the optometrist's professional
the essence and values of the practice of optometry and to establish criteria for assessing whether particular
the optometrist's actions were in accordance with the standards of a skilled, attentive, considerate, careful and conscientious
standard of conduct of an optometrist.
